Colts Neck, NJ- On six work days between January 3rd and January 12th of the new year, CNHS NJROTC conducted our Freshmen Cadet Applicant Interviews. The interview of applicants is the final step in the application process to the FRHSD NJROTC Academy. The confidence displayed by applicants in the answers they give during their interview provides crucial information about each prospective cadet’s unique interests, talents, and capabilities in relation to CNHS NJROTC values and standards. Each interview is conducted by a panel consisting of our Naval Science Instructors MCPO Dunkin, MCPO Loring, and Major Penczak, in addition to one Colts Neck High School Administrator. Upon conclusion of this year’s interviews, 125 candidates had been successfully subjected to a randomized series of undisclosed questions. As in all NJROTC operations, our active cadets play a crucial role in the successful execution of this event. They greet the prospective applicants, brief them on the plan for completing their interviews, help reduce each applicant’s nervousness, obtain information from the applicant about clothing sizes (utilized to outfit those accepted into the program,) escort them to the interview room, and introduce them to the interview panel. Our active cadets are always excited to participate in the interview process and meet those that wish to join their ranks. CNHS NJROTC is proud to illustrate our commitment to upholding both tradition and excellence, and we wish each applicant “Fair Winds and Following Seas.” “The quality of the applicants we observed gives me confidence that next year will see another talented class of freshmen cadets join our distinguished ranks” reflected Major Penczak. “They represent another step in our continued efforts to retain the spirit of dedication, competition, and leadership inherent in the unit of today.” CNHS NJROTC is proud to announce the completion of this pivotal annual milestone.
